Admissions

Introduction

On registration, a fee of £50 is payable before the child's name is placed on the Waiting List.

When a place is offered, completion of the Form of Agreement and payment of a £200 deposit will secure it.

The deposit is returnable by deduction from the final account and will be forfeited if a pupil is withdrawn between the time of payment and the beginning of the pupil's first term.

Kindergarten

Children enter our Kindergarten class in the term after their third birthday.

It is compulsory to attend five morning sessions per week: afternoon sessions are optional.

We recommend that the number of sessions are increased throughout the year as children who are able to attend full-time during the Summer term are gently prepared for full-time education in the September.

Reception

Entry to Reception is in the September after the child's fourth birthday.

Pre-Prep Department

Occasional entry to the Pre-Prep is dependant on existing numbers and is at the discretion of the Head.

Prep Department

Entry to the Prep Department (7-11 year olds) may be subject to an Entrance Test comprising Verbal/Non Verbal Reasoning and Mathematics: this to give us standardised scores that will give a projection of success at 11+.  Results are communicated to parents as soon as possible.

Allocation of places

When allocating places, priority is given if there are siblings already at Lorenden.  When there is more than one child competing for a place in the Prep Department, priority will be given to the child with the highest marks in the Entrance Test.  Extenuating circumstances will always be considered.
